Keto Makki ki Roti with Sarson ka Saag

Winter is the time when one truly indulges in Eating Good food. Our body can digest heavy foods too. The winter vegetables are so colourful that one wants to have something different. I missed my favourite Sarso ka saag and Makai ki Roti. But not anymore now. This is a keto version of this famous North Indian Punjabi Dish and I want you also to enjoy as much as I am doing on my Keto Journey.

Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Serve: Saag serving is for 4 Rotis serving is for 1

Ingredients
For Sarson da Saag
Mustard leaves finely chopped 500g
Bathua or Chenopodium leaves finely chopped 100g
Spinach finely chopped 200g
Garlic finely chopped
Ginger finely chopped
Green chillies finely chopped
Ghee 4 tbsp
Sunflower seed flour 2 tbsp

For Makai di Roti
Sunflower seed flour 1/4 cup
Salt 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4tsp
Paneer crumbled 40 g
Ghee 1 tsp

Finale
Butter 20g  (optional)

Method
 Sarson da Saag

  •  Wash all the leaves properly and hang it.
  • Heat a deep big pan add 1/4 cup water in it.
  • Put all the leafy vegetables and salt in it 
  • Mix it.
  • Now cover and cook on slow to medium flame for 15  minutes
  • Heat another nonstick pan and add ghee to it.
  • Add garlic, green chillies, ginger and saute for a few seconds.
  • Add onions to it and saute for a few minutes till it turns pink.
  • Now to the green vegetables cooking pan. Blend it with the help
  • Of a hand blender.
  • Add the blended vegetables  to the onion pan and mix it thoroughly
  • Now add the flour and mix 8t and cook for 15 mins more until it becomes thick.
  • Sarson da Saag is ready to be served

Makai  di Roti

  • Mix all the ingredients and make a soft dough.  Keep it covered for 5 minutes.
  • Now roll the dough between the Parchment paper, or press with the help of the palm
  • Make a thick roti /tortilla.
  • Heat a nonstick griddle/tawa.
  • Transfer the roti to it and cook it from both the side by applying ghee to it.

Finale

  • Serve hot Makai di Roti with Sarson da Saag with a chunk of butter on top. (optional)
  • Enjoy!!!
