Keto Steamed Sundesh | Keto Steamed Cake

Sandesh doesn't need any introduction. It's a famous Indian Bengali sweet or dessert and is also high in healthy quotient too. It is commonly known as Bhapa Sandesh. And the best part is, it's full of protein. Enjoy!!!

Preparation time: 15 mins
Cooking time: 20 mins
Serves: 16 pieces

Ingredients
Step 1
Milk full fat 2 l
Lemon juice 2-3 tbsp

Step 2
Saffron strings a few pieces
Water warm 1 ts

Step 3
Stevia sugarfree 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
Saffron strings a few pieces

Method
Step 1

  • Boil the milk.
  • When the milk starts boiling then slowly add the lemon juice little by little until the milk curdles to form cottage cheese /paneer.
  • Separate the paneer from the whey by passing through the sieve over a muslin cloth.
  • Wash with plain water, so that the traces of lemon juice is washed off.
  • Now squeeze out the water from paneer by wringing the muslin cloth.
  • Take it out on a rimmed plate.

Step 2

  • Soak the saffron strings in warm water

Step 3

  • Mash the paneer in the rimmed plate for a few minutes.
  • Add all the ingredients and give a good mix.
  • Now take a square or rectangle tray with a rim which can be used for steaming.
  • Apply ghee or as I have used the parchment sheet, place it in the tray.
  • Drop the paneer mixture over it.
  • Flatten it out
  • Smoothen the surface with water
  • Sprinkle some strands of saffron.
  • Steam it in a vessel as shown in the video for 15-20 minutes.
  • Take it out and let it cool.
  • Refrigerate it for two hours.
  • Take it out and slice
  • Enjoy!!!
