Keto Dahi Vada / Bhalla / Pakore (Eggless)

Dahi Vada / Pakori  / Bhalla whatever you call is a famous Indian Chaat eaten all over India with different names. One always make this on special Occasions. Indian menu is incomplete without these. So the Keto version is no less. You really have to make and eat to believe it. It's really Awesome. So make and enjoy.


Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 10mins
Dressing time: 10 mins 
Serves: Makes 12 balls 

Ingredients 
Almond flour 1/2 cup 
Flaxseed flour 1 tbsp
Salt 1tsp 
Xanthan gum 1 & 1/2 tsp
Baking soda 1/2 tsp
Ginger a slice finely chopped
Green chilli finely chopped 1 tsp
Coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tbsp 
Water for the dough
Oil for frying

For Dressing 
Chilled Hung curd 8 tbsp
Chilled water 7 tbsp
Rock salt  2 tsp
Red Chilli powder 1&1/2 2tsp
Roasted Cumin powder 2 tsp

Method 
  • In a mixing bowl add all the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. 
  • Then add green chillies, ginger, and coriander leaves. 
  • Mix well. 
  • Then bind together with water to make a soft dough. 
  • Heat oil in a pan for frying. 
  • Make small balls about 2 cm round and fry all the balls.
  • Take it out in a tissue paper.
  • Dip the balls in Normal temperature water. 
  • Soak for 10 mins. 
  • And then take it out in a bowl, and keep aside. 

Dressing:
  • Now take hung curd in a bigger bowl and mix water to it. Blend it thoroughly.
  • Now in a serving bowl put 3-4 Pakoris (fried balls) according to your Macros. 
  • Cover the balls with hung curd. (approximately 1 & 1/2 tbsp required for 1serving)
  • Now sprinkle rock salt, roasted cumin powder and red chilli powder.
  • Serve & Enjoy. 

Recipe Notes:
  • Dip the fried balls only for 10-15mins maximum. Then take it out and store it in a container. 
  • Refrigerate it and you can use it within  2-3 days. 
  • It tastes awesome if the fried balls dipped in water and the made curd from hung curd all are chilled. 
  •  Add hung curd when you eat, otherwise, it will turn soggy.
