Keto Aloo Dum | Keto Curry

Aloo dum is made in a different style in all the regions of India. But I grew up eating this as street food in the city of Kolkatta. And having them in a keto style is like a wish granted. Enjoy!!!



Preparation time: 10 min

Cooking time: 15 mins

Ingredients

Step 1

Bayleaf 2

Kashmiri red chillies soaked overnight  4-5

Black peppercorns 1 tsp

Coriander powder 2 tsp

Cumin seeds 1 tsp

 

Step 2

Bottle gourd 150g(400g)

Salt 1/4 tsp

 

Step 3

Ghee/oil 2 tsp

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Tomato puree 2 tbsp

Salt 1/2 tsp

Coriander leaves for garnishing 


 

Method

Step 1

  • In a mixer jar add in all the ingredients and grind it into a fine paste

 Step 2

  • Remove the skin of the bottle gourd and slice it into big pieces as shown in the video. 
  • Now scoop out roundels from the pieces as many as you can. 
  • Take out in a plate and sprinkle some salt and mix it. 
  • Keep aside.
  • Your keto aloos are made

Step 3

  • Heat a pan add ghee or oil to it.
  • When hot drop the bottle gourd balls into it. 
  • Fry till golden. Take it out in a pate.
  • Now in the same ghee/oil add the cumin seeds. Let it splutter. 
  • Now drop the made paste into it. saute it. 
  • Add water to the mixer jar and take out the remaining paste from it.
  • Cook for a few mins. Add turmeric powder, salt and tomato puree to it. 
  • When ghee/oil separates out the add the fried keto aloos into it. 
  • Stir and cook for another 10 mins. It's done. 
  • Serve hot. 
  • Enjoy!!!
