Being a Vegetarian and that too eggless, Snacking becomes a pain. But wait, here comes the ever tasty Mathri, mathi, suhali whatever be the name. It is an easy and a quick famous snack of India. It is salty in taste and it can beat the Original Mathri. Make it believe it.
Preparation time: 15mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
Serves: 15-16 pieces
Ingredients
Almond flour 100g
Psyllium husk 2 tsp
Xanthum gum 1 tsp
Onion seed 1 tsp
Salt 1tsp
Olive oil 1& 1/2 tbsp
Water very little as required
Method
- In a mixing bowl add almond flour, Psyllium husk, xanthan gum, onion seeds, and salt.
- Mix well.
- Add oil and mix it thoroughly.
- Now add very little water and make a dough.
- Keep it aside for 7-8 mins, covered with a cloth.
- Now the dough is ready.
- Preheat the oven to 200c.
- Now grease your palms.
- Take a very small portion of the dough and roll it between your palm and press it flat and place it on the baking tray.
- Use all the dough like this making balls and flattening it and placing it on the baking tray.
- Place the tray in the oven and bake it for 8-10 mins.
- Take it out and cool it.
- When cooled store in an airtight container.
- You can serve this Mathri or Mathi with a pickle of your choice with Tea.
