Keto Puri Halwa | Navratri Special

Nothing can beat the site of Fluffy Puri with Halwa. It is one of my favorite and also a favorite offering for the Pujas. Every special occasion is incomplete without these Delicacies. And on  Keto, it is like a Special Treat which one can never say NO. I love this keto Puri and Keto Halwa, and so will you. Enjoy!!!


Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: 15 puris & 5 servings of Halwa

Ingredients
For Keto Halwa
Ghee/clarified butter 1/4 cup
Almond flour 1/2cup
Coconut desiccated/flour 1/2 cup
Hot boiling water 3/4 cup
Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
Stevia sweetener 1/3 cup
Almond slivers for decoration

For Keto Puris
Almond flour 1 cup
Coconut desiccated/flour 1/2 cup
Xanthan gum 2 tsp
Hung curd 2 tbsp
Water warm 1-2 tbsp

Method
For keto Halwa

  • Put water to boil on a separate burner.
  • In a nonstick Kadai adds ghee.
  • Add the almond flour and saute for a minute.
  • Then add the coconut  powder, saute until the aroma of roasting comes out or until the mixture turns golden a bit.
  • Now add boiling hot water to it. Stir it continuously.
  • It will slowly turn into a thick paste, and ghee will separate out.
  • Add the cardamom powder  and sweetener and mix it thoroughly.
  • Cook for 1 minute more.
  • Keep it aside.

For keto Puri

  • Mix all the dry ingredients  and then add the hung curd and mix it up.
  • Then with the help of water as required makes a soft dough.
  • Knead it a bit and cover and keep it aside for 10 mins.
  • After 10 mins, knead the dough again and then roll out small puris in between the greased parchment sheet.
  • Cut rounders with the help of a small bowl
  • Heat oil in a kadhai for frying.
  • Fry the puris one by one.

Finale

  • Plate the Halwa in a serving plate and sprinkle some almond slivers over it.
  • Serve the Halwa with the Fluffy Puris.
  • Enjoy!!!

  2. I also had the same issue of breaking when i put the puri in oil. Why do you think that happened? I used coconut flour instead of dessicated coconut..is that the reason?

  4. Mine never puffed up. Can I just check you said 2 Tsp xanthan gum but in your video you only added 1 tsp. Would that be the issue? I had to add more yoghurt to it as it kept crumbling and didn't look soft like yours. What are we doing wrong? Guidance would be great. Many thanks
